We need to be kinder with one another, more gentle and forgiving. We need to be slower to anger and more prompt to help. We need to extend the hand of friendship and resist the hand of retribution. In short, we need to love one another with the pure love of Christ, with genuine charity and compassion and, if necessary, shared suffering, for that is the way God loves us.” (President Howard W. Alma 40:11-12

Jesus stopped to observe where He needed to serve and He still does.

How many times do we see some act of service that needs done and we pass by?

Align with the character of Christ.  Be justified.

Develop our spiritual gifts to more easily keep from being deceived. 

One of the patterns God uses is scattering in order to gather. He scattered Adam and Eve in order to provide a Savior to gather as many of their children as would allow it.

The speaker talked about rushing to get approved for his mission before the government quota on missionaries started during the Vietnam conflict.

He talked of being healed immediately from the British Flu when he got a priesthood blessing.

He talked of being healed within an hour from 3rd degree burns after he got a priesthood blessing.

Ask the Lord for specific revelation in your callings.

D&C 58:27

27 Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness;

How do I help my family have spiritual experiences during the busy summer months?

Consider the impact that asking questions has had on the modern Church and the ancient Church.

Impact on the Modern Church:

1. The First Vision (1820): 14-year-old Joseph Smith questioned which church to join after reading James 1:5. His prayer led to the First Vision, opening the dispensation of the fulness of times and the Restoration of the Church.

2. Revelation on the Degrees of Glory (D&C 76): While translating John 5:29, Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon pondered and asked questions about salvation and judgment, resulting in the vision revealing the Celestial, Terrestrial, and Telestial kingdoms.

Impact on the Ancient Church:

1. The Brother of Jared (Ether 2–3): Facing darkness in the barges, the Brother of Jared asked the Lord how to obtain light. The Lord invited him to propose a solution, leading to the Brother of Jared asking the Lord to touch sixteen stones and seeing the physical finger and spirit body of Jesus Christ.

2. The Jerusalem Council (Acts 15): Early Church leaders questioned whether Gentile converts needed to observe the Law of Moses (specifically circumcision). Pondering this question led the Apostles to receive revelation that opened gospel salvation directly to Gentiles without Mosaic rites.

A good father doesn’t do everything for his kids.

We need to know that Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation is that we obey the laws and ordinances of the gospel and gain eternal life and thus become as God is. A sister who is leaving soon for the Texas San Antonio Mission Spanish speaking spoke to us.

“Our faith in Jesus Christ needs to be nourished daily. It is nourished as we pray daily, study the scriptures daily, reflect on the goodness of God daily, repent daily, and follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost daily. Just as it is not healthy to defer eating all our food until Sunday and then binge our weekly allotment of nutrition, it is not spiritually healthy to restrict our testimony-nourishing behavior to one day in the week.” (Elder Dale G. We should look forward to feeling our soul.

Agency is fundamental to God's plan of happiness. 

The principles in the declaration of independence and constitution protect and promote moral agency. The documents were divinely inspired. 

Life and liberty are a divine birthright. 

Pursuit of happiness is the pursuit to be good and not to feel good. Or the pursuit of virtue. The pursuit of virtue is a right. 

The Constitution was designed to be a living document.

79 Therefore, it is not right that any man should be in bondage one to another.

The first amendment to the constitution was the guarantee of the free exercise of religion. 

That is also one of our articles of faith. 

Our loyalty is to the constitution, not to our rulers. 

We should pray for our government leaders. Especially, the ones we disagree with.

She mentioned the children’s song, “I Will Walk With Jesus”.

“Our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, will perform some of His mightiest works between now and when He comes again. We will see miraculous indications that God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, preside over this Church in majesty and glory.
