Church Services This Week at Layton North Stake Layton Utah June 21, 2025

Adult Session of Stake Conference

First Speaker

DnC 60:3

3 And it shall come to pass, if they are not more faithful unto me, it shall be taken away, even that which they have.

How can we be more faithful?

Moses 1:39

39 For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.

Obey to two great commandments.

We have to desire it and be intentional about achieving it.

“The most important of all the commandments of God is that one that you are having the most difficulty keeping today.” (President Harold B. Lee, Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Harold B. Lee (2000), 30.)

DnC 64:33-34

33 Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great.

34 Behold, the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind; and the willing and obedient shall eat the good of the land of Zion in these last days.

“When obedience ceases to be an irritant and becomes our quest, in that moment God will endow us with power” (President Ezra Taft Benson, “Obedience – Life’s Great Challenge,” Ensign, May 1998, p. 82).

“This is the Lord’s house. It is filled with His power. Those who live His higher laws have access to His higher power. God’s power helps us to grow from the trials of life — rather than be defeated by them.” (President Russel M Nelson, Syracuse Utah temple dedication, 8 June 2025)

The Savior continually gives mankind higher and higher laws. He built on the law of Moses. He builds upon the words he gave the ancient apostles. He builds upon the restoration.

Next Speaker

“Brothers and sisters, now is the time for you and for me to prepare for the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.” (President Russell M. Nelson, “The Lord Jesus Christ Will Come Again”, October 2024 General Conference)

Be prepared to answer the question, “What has the prophet said recently?”

“As you make your testimony your highest priority, watch for miracles to happen in your life.” (President Russell M. Nelson, “Choices for Eternity”, Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults, 15 May 2022)

“In a recent sacrament meeting I attended, a returned missionary quoted a father who summed up this idea perfectly when he said to his children, ‘What we need here is less Wi-Fi and more Nephi!’” (Elder Terence M. Vinson, “True Disciples of the Savior”, October 2019 General Conference)

Be intentional about teaching the youth in our lives.

“The temple lies at the center of strengthening our faith and spiritual fortitude because the Savior and His doctrine are the very heart of the temple. Everything taught in the temple, through instruction and through the Spirit, increases our understanding of Jesus Christ. His essential ordinances bind us to Him through sacred priesthood covenants. Then, as we keep our covenants, He endows us with His healing, strengthening power. And oh, how we will need His power in the days ahead.” (President Russell M. Nelson, “The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation”, October 2021 General Conference)

Next Speaker

A father spoke about his daughter who is on a mission.

Next Speaker

“When the focus of our lives is on God’s plan of salvation, which President Thomas S. Monson just taught us, and Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening—or not happening—in our lives. Joy comes from and because of Him. He is the source of all joy.” (President Russell M. Nelson, “Joy and Spiritual Survival”, Joy and Spiritual Survival)

Next Speaker

Sometimes we are taken into troubled waters not to drown, but to be cleansed.

Next Speaker - Elder Colin C. Stauffer, Area Seventy

The witness of the 12 is the testimony of the resurrected Savior and everything that entails.

Discern between the voices that love you and those that just want to drag you around.

Own your experiences. Don’t let someone take them away from you.

DnC 8:2

2 Yea, behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart.
