Church Services This Week at Oak Ridge Ward Layton North Stake Layton Utah Dec 14, 2025

Sacrament Service

First Speaker

Jesus lives.  Study The Living Christ document.  Christ is a benchmark for our own actions.

Next Speaker

Christ was sinless, but still was baptized.

Jesus often wept for us.

Hebrews 5:7

7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

Christ’s love is infinite.

All of us are learning and growing, no matter how old we are.

Next Speaker

The most powerful message ever given is the life of Jesus Christ.

Christ is not just a historical figure.  He is the literal Savior of the world.

DnC 59

23 But learn that he who doeth the works of righteousness shall receive his reward, even peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come.

He lives.  He knows us.  He loves us.

2 Nephi 25:2

2 For I, Nephi, have not taught them many things concerning the manner of the Jews; for their works were works of darkness, and their doings were doings of abominations.

Unclean things can’t dwell with God.

2 Nephi 2

27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.

Mark 14

36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

It wasn’t just our sins that Christ took upon us.  He took on our feelings.  He took upon Himself what motivates us, so he could understand why we act the way we do.

Luke 23:46

46 ¶ And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

Luke 23

34 ¶ Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Christ knew why He was doing what he was doing, even when going through it.

Combined Youth and Adult Utah Area Meeting

They showed a video message from the Utah Area Presidency and President Christofferson of the First Presidency.

“Joyfully Gathering Israel One by One in Christ” - Area Vision

“The work of gathering Heavenly Father’s family is not just for young people, and it is not just for grandparents. It is for everyone. We are all gatherers.

“This is the work of our generation, what the Apostle Paul called ‘the dispensation of the fulness of times,’ when he said God would ‘gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him’ (Ephesians 1:10).” (President Henry B. Eyring, “Gathering the Family of God”, April 2017 General Conference)
