Church Services This Week at Sullivan Hollow Second Ward Weber Heights Stake Ogden Utah 21 October 2012

Elders Quorum
Teachings of Presidents of the Church: George Albert Smith Chapter 20"...helping those in need goes beyond providing temporal assistance; it also requires true kindness and charity..."
I believe our Heavenly Father is giving us our opportunity for development.” (“To the Relief Society,” Relief Society Magazine, Dec. 1932, 706)
Change our character to make it reflex for us to serve.

We might learn a lesson from the ant. He harvests his supplies when they are available and stores them up against the day when it would not be possible to obtain them. The result is that his larder is usually well stocked. The grasshopper, a much larger insect, does not operate that way. He does not lay up anything in store for hard times, but depends upon providence to provide him what he needs, and the result is that most grasshoppers starve to death.”
Earn interest, don't pay it.  Often young people want now everything their parents worked 30 years to build.

Sunday School3 Nephi 17-19When we teach someone a new concept, it is not helpful to share immediately everything we know on the subject.  The student will be overwhelmed.  The same is true with the Lord.  He gives us a little at a time.  Some is in the scriptures and the more detail he gives us a little at a time over time.
On a larger scale he does this with the general population of the earth as well as us individually.  He gave the Old Testament and then after a time he gave the New Testament and over time he brought forth the restoration of the Gospel after a time which brought more knowledge to the world and more explanation of his doctrine and will.  Perhaps because the general population has learned more about how things workthrough technology and such we can understand things better.  Better beyond superstition, but more understanding.

What does it mean to always remember him?  When we do things or say things we shouldn't we might say that we forget who we are.  If we remember who we are, we remember Christ.  And if we always rememberChrist we will do those wrong things less.
Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking.

Sacrament ServicePresident Huge B Brown, “The Profile of a Prophet - Ensign June 2006 - ensign
Matt 16:19 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

“We can fill our lives with good, leaving no room for anything else. We have so much good from which to choose that we need never partake of evil” (in Conference Report, Apr. 1992, 120; or Ensign, May 1992, 86)

Employment Meeting"Work is an antidote for anxiety, and ointment for sorrow, and a doorway to possibility. Whatever our circumstances in life, my dear brethren, let us do the best we can and cultivate a reputation for excellence in all that we do. Let us set our minds and bodies to the glorious opportunity for work that each new day presents." (Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "Two Principles for Any Economy," Ensign, Nov. 2009, 56)
