President Gordon B. Hinckley realted a story about two young boys. The younger boy wanted to be mischievous and play a prank on a farmer and watch. The older boy suggested that they put some money in his boots and watch that instead. (Adapted from Bryant S. Hinckley, Not by Bread Alone, Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1955, p. 95 and related by President Gordon B. Hinckley, Some Lessons I Learned as a Boy, Ensign, May 1993)

Doctrine and Covenants 2
1 BEHOLD, I will reveal unto you the Priesthood, by the hand of aElijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and bdreadful day of the Lord.
2 And ahe shall plant in the hearts of the children the bpromises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers.
3 If it were not so, the whole aearth would be utterly wasted at his coming.
Doctrine and Covenants 110:13-16
13 After this vision had closed, another great and glorious avision burst upon us; for bElijah the prophet, who was taken to heaven without tasting death, stood before us, and said:
14 Behold, the time has fully come, which was spoken of by the mouth of Malachi—testifying that he [Elijah] should be sent, before the great and dreadful day of the Lord come—
15 To aturn the bhearts of the fathers to the children, and the children to the fathers, lest the whole earth be smitten with a curse—
16 Therefore, the akeys of this bdispensation are committed into your hands; and by this ye may know that the great and dreadful cday of the Lord is near, even at the doors.
Even though John the Baptist and Peter, James, and John restored the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthood respectively, Elijah had the priesthood keys of Eternal families. Similarly, Moses had the keys of the gathering of Israel and he came and restored those keys as well.
President Packer broke ground for the Brigham City Temple yesterday.
From the Bulletin
"We ... can become more diligent and concerned at home by bearing testimony to those whom we love about the things we know to be true by the witness of the Holy Ghost. The bearing of testimony need not be lengthy or eloquent. And we do not need to wait until the first Sunday of the month to declare our witness of things that are true. Within the walls of our own homes, we can and should bear pure testimony of the divinity and reality of the Father and the Son, of the great plan of happiness, and of the Restoration.
"We should remember that bearing a heartfelt testimony is only a beginning. We need to bear testimony, we need to mean it, and most importantly we need consistently to live it. We need to both declare and live our testimonies." Elder David A.Bednar, Ensign, Nov. 2009, 18 — 19.
