2 Nephi 31:20
20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.

Joseph of Egypt - Type of Christ
Both were good shepherds (Gen. 37:12-16; John 10:11-15)
Both were clothed in authority and power of their father. Joseph, for instance, was given the "coat of many colours' (Gen. 37:3), a symbol of priesthood authority.
Both were revelators who revealed things pertaining to the future (JST Gen. 50:24-38; Matt. 24)
Both were fully obedient to the will and wishes of their fathers and responded to their calls to serve, saying, "Here am l' (Gen 37:13; Abr. 3:27)
Both blessed those with whom they labored in prison (Gen. 39:231-23; 138)
Both were tempted with great sin but refused its enticements Gen 39:7-12; Matt 4:1-11)
As Joseph's brothers bowed to him in fulfillment of prophecy, so all will yet bow the knee to Christ (Gen 4:3-16-28; D&C 76:110)
Through both, mercy is granted to a repentant people. As Joseph's brothers sought forgiveness of him, so Christ's brothers will eventually seek forgiveness of Him.
Both were thirty years old when they began their life's work (Gen 41:38-46; Luke 3:23)
Both Joseph and Christ were sold; it was Judah who sold Joseph for twenty pieces of silver (Gen 37:26-28), and it was Judas (Greek for Judah (who sold Jesus for thirty pieces of silver (Matt 26: 15)
Both were falsely accused - Joseph by Potiphar's wife (Gen 39:13-19), Christ by false witnesses (Matt 26:56-61)
Wicked men conspired to kill both Joseph and Jesus (Gen 37:18-20; Matt 26:34; John 11:49-53)
Men stripped them of their special garments (Gen 37-3, 23; John 19:23-24)
Both were cast into a pit - Christ to the world of spirits, Joseph into an .empty cistern (Gen 37:20-24; 1 Pet 3:18-19)
Both were betrayed with great duplicity (Gen 37:27: John 18:31).
Both were saviors to their people, giving them the bread of life. Joseph saved his family with a temporal salvation (Gen 45:11; 47:12)
Christ as the Bread of Life saves the family of mankind with a spiritual salvation (Matt 14:15-21; 15-32-38; John 6: 32-35)
