Church Services This Week at Oak Ridge Ward Layton North Stake Layton Utah 13 Feb 2022

Sacrament Service

First Speaker

Helaman 5:12

12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

“In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.” (President Russell M Nelson, “Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives”, April 2018 General Conference)

Next Speaker

Mosiah 18:21

21 And he commanded them that there should be no contention one with another, but that they should look forward with one eye, having one faith and one baptism, having their hearts knit together in unity and in love one towards another.

John 13:34

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

“How grateful we are for the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It tells us who we are. When we understand our relationship to God, we also understand our relationship to one another.” (Elder Dallin H. Oaks, “The Gospel Culture”, Ensign March 2012)

There is a divine pattern of loving each other and the Lord.

Next Speaker

Alma 37

35 O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God.

Mosiah 2:17

17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.

Teacher Council (Sunday School)

Charity and Students that Don’t Participate or Are Unruly

When a kid is off topic or disruptive, attempt to take one thing they are saying and turn it into something relevant or at least instructive.

Don’t be laser focused on having to cover the material from the lesson.  Be aware of the needs of your students.  There may be something a student or the class is dealing with that you may be able to address for them.
