Alma 37:37

Patience
Several commandments are commandments of patience.

• Chastity
• Sabbath
• Stay out of debt
• Be selective with the media we partake of
• Raising children

Doctrine and Covenants 98:2

  2 ^aWaiting patiently on the Lord, for your prayers have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth, and are recorded with this seal and testament—the Lord hath sworn and decreed that they shall be granted.

Proverbs 20:22

22 Say not thou, I will ^arecompense evil; but ^bwait on the Lord, and he shall save thee.

Psalms 27:14

 14 ^aWait on the Lord: be of good ^bcourage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: ^cwait, I say, on the Lord.

Psalms 37:7-9

  7 Rest in the Lord, and wait ^apatiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

  8 ^aCease from ^banger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

Psalms 25:5

Isaiah 40:31

What would god be like without patience?

In whatever we want to receive we have to do our part.  Not just pray.  Not just throw it on a credit card.

It appears that Balaam did not want to go against the commands of God, but he also wanted early rewards from the wicked.  He ended up getting caught in the middle and was killed.
