The Gospel is our connection to the Savior.

Next Speaker

2 Nephi 4

34 O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee forever. I will not put my trust in the arm of flesh; for I know that cursed is he that putteth his trust in the arm of flesh. Yea, cursed is he that putteth his trust in man or maketh flesh his arm.

“As you seek to learn more about Jesus Christ, I urge you to study ‘The Living Christ.’” (President Russell M. Nelson, “Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ into Our Lives”, April 2017 General Conference)

Isaiah 49:16

16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Proverbs 3

5 ¶ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Next Speaker

Mosiah 4

13 And ye will not have a mind to injure one another, but to live peaceably, and to render to every man according to that which is his due.

Through revelation we can receive our parenting efforts.

Doctrine and Covenants 98:37

37 And I, the Lord, would fight their battles, and their children’s battles, and their children’s children’s, until they had avenged themselves on all their enemies, to the third and fourth generation.

Psalm 31:23

23 O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

Isaiah 49:25

25 But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

Doctrine and Covenants 105:14

14 For behold, I do not require at their hands to fight the battles of Zion; for, as I said in a former commandment, even so will I fulfil—I will fight your battles.

“In each ward, the Lord’s youth battalion is led by a bishop, a dedicated servant of God. His first and foremost responsibility is to care for the young men and young women of his ward. The bishop and his counselors direct the work of the Aaronic Priesthood quorums and the Young Women classes in the ward.”

Intentionally parent.

Invest in our relationships with our spouses.

“take charge of your testimony” - Nelson

“I plead with you to take charge of your testimony. Work for it. Own it. Care for it. Nurture it so that it will grow. Feed it truth. Don’t pollute it with the false philosophies of unbelieving men and women and then wonder why your testimony is waning.”

...

“As you take charge of your testimony and cause it to grow, you will become a more potent instrument in the hands of the Lord. You will be “inspired by a better cause”—the cause of Jesus Christ!

“There is nothing happening on this earth more important than gathering Israel for Him. Let your Heavenly Father know that you want to help. Ask Him to put you to work in this glorious cause. And then stand back and marvel at what happens when you let God prevail in your life.

“My dear young friends, I love you. I thank you. I believe in you. As the Lord’s prophet, I bless you to know the truth about who you are and to treasure the truth about what your glorious potential really is. I bless you to take charge of your own testimony. And I bless you to have the desire and strength to keep your covenants.” (President Russell M Nelson, Youth Devotional 15 May 2022)

Next Speaker

The atonement is real. It is individual. It is personal.

“Casual and inconsistent covenant keeping leads to spiritual casualty. The spiritual damage is often greatest on our children and grandchildren. Parents and grandparents, are we still willing?” (Elder Kevin W. Pearson, “Are You Still Willing?”, October 2022 General Conference)

Next Speaker

4 things to watch for to see the great in the last days.

  1. Gospel will be preached in every nation.

  2. Temples will dot the earth.

  3. Gospel will be taken to all the dead.

Psalm 132

8 Arise, O Lord, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.

9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.

His strength is covenants.

Next Speaker

In 2018 we began discovering we wanted not only to live a balanced life but also to strive for a consecrated, sacramental life. Of course we must be wise and not ‘run faster than [we have] strength.’ And sometimes we must “be still and know that [God is] God.”24 But with planning, increasing capacity, and consecrated effort, we are discovering something miraculous. This world is not simply one of finite sticks and stones. In the Lord’s times and seasons, this world can also be one of limitless loaves and fishes.” (Gerrit W Gong, “We Seek After These Things”. BYU Devotional, 16 Oct 2018)

Next Speaker

Where is our focus?

1 Nephi 15:27

27 And I said unto them that the water which my father saw was filthiness; and so much was his mind swallowed up in other things that he beheld not the filthiness of the water.

“My dear brothers and sisters, the joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives.

“When the focus of our lives is on God’s plan of salvation, which President Thomas S. Monson just taught us, and Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening—or not happening—in our lives. Joy comes from and because of Him. He is the source of all joy. We feel it at Christmas Time when we sing, ‘Joy to the world, the Lord is come.’ And we can feel it all year round. For Latter-day Saints, Jesus Christ is joy!” (President Russell M. Nelson, “Joy and Spiritual Survival”, October 2016 General Conference)

Matthew 14 - Peter focused on the savior, then he focused on the winds and waves. He walked on water when he was focused on Christ.

Follow prophetic priorities.

1 Nephi 5

5 But behold, I have obtained a land of promise, in the which things I do rejoice; yea, and I know that the Lord will deliver my sons out of the hands of Laban, and bring them down again unto us in the wilderness.

“Time in the temple will help you to think celestial and to catch a vision of who you really are, who you can become, and the kind of life you can have forever. Regular temple worship will enhance the way you see yourself and how you fit into God’s magnificent plan. I promise you that.” (President Russell M. Nelson, “Rejoice in the Gift of Priesthood Keys”, April 2024 General Conference)

“The Church of Jesus Christ is known as a church that emphasizes making covenants with God. Covenants are inherent in each of the ordinances of salvation and exaltation this restored Church administers. The ordinance of baptism and its associated covenants are requirements for entrance into the celestial kingdom.” (President Dallin H. Oaks, “Covenants and Responsibilities”, April 2024 General Conference)

We qualify for a witness of what the prophet has said by creating a trusting relationship with the prophet and also with the Spirit.

Next Speaker

“My beloved brothers and sisters, I plead with you to increase your spiritual capacity to receive revelation.” (President Russell M. Nelson, “Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives”, April 2018 General Conference)

3 Nephi 14

7 Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

Next Speaker

“I hope you will repeatedly study the messages of this conference throughout the coming months.” (President Russell M. Nelson, “Rejoice in the Gift of Priesthood Keys”, April 2024 General Conference)

Dnc 109 - Kirtland temple dedication.

If a man or woman is not ready to keep the five covenants, then are not ready to receive their endowment.

Think about how you would teach your children what the 5 covenants in the endowment mean.

The garments of the holy priesthood represent Christ and the way his Atonement can cover our nakedness or guilt.
