Church Services This Week at Oak Ridge Ward Layton North Stake Layton Utah 19 Feb 2023

Sacrament Service

From the sacrament hymn 197 - "The very foes who slay thee have access to thy grace."

First Speaker

A sister that recently returned from a mission to Indiana spoke to us.

Helaman 5:12

12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

Matthew 16

24 ¶ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Next Speaker

Defining people by their past and our life experience may cause us to miss a person's potential and eternal identity.

2 Nephi 26

33 For none of these iniquities come of the Lord; for he doeth that which is good among the children of men; and he doeth nothing save it be plain unto the children of men; and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile.

“How blessed we are to see the day that Zion is being established simultaneously on every continent and in our own neighborhoods.”(Elder D Todd Christofferson, October 2022 General Conference)

Sunday School

Meekness is strength under control.

“We all need to remember: men are that they might have joy—not guilt trips! We also need to remember that the Lord gives no commandments that are impossible to obey. But sometimes we fail to comprehend them fully.” (Elder Russell M Nelson, October 1995 General Conference)
